Traditional Hiking Tour with Walter Kolb, the FMG,
the Circle of Business Juniors and the Students from Madison
Walking around the Schönberg
11:30 a.m.: Our meeting place is the terminus of
streetcar number 3 „Innsbruckerstraße“ in Vauban
Passing the old age nursing home “Augustinerstift” we walk in the
direction of the Schönberg having a break at the “Berghauser Kapelle”
with an impressive view on the Rhine valley and the Vosges.
We continue to the “Schönberger Hof” for a small lunch in the beer
garden (around 12:30 p.m.).
In the afternnoon we return to the streetcar stop
from where we started. The total walking distance is 7.5 km, the
difference in height 150 m.
In case of rain we walk directly to the „Schönberger Hof“ (30 to 40
minutes) taking lunch inside.

For this year’s celebration of the 235th
Independence Day we will come together with friends from around the
globe. Let’s fire up the grill, have some drinks, enjoy live music with
the “Tootles”, watch the US-women’s soccer team play Columbia in the
World Championship, and discuss women’s sports with young people from
here and elsewhere.

Hiking Tour on
German Unity Day
with Walter Kolb, the FMG,
and the American Students to the Rappenecker Hut in the Black Forest
We meet at the Streetcar terminus of Line 1
(Lassbergstraße/Littenweiler) at 11 a.m.
Car pooling to Kappel-Großtal (at the foot of the
Schauinsland). Turn left at the Herder Hut to the parking lot
Leopoldstollen.
There we start our hiking tour to the Rappenecker Hut (about 1 hour)
and will have a Vesper (snack) at 12:15 p.m.
We walk back at 1:30 p.m. and arrive at Lassbergstraße around 3
p.m.
